Due to the earlier than expected retirement of Deputy Provincial Grand Master, W Bro Paul
A Yarnell, for family reasons, the Provincial Grand Master has appointed W Bro Mark J
Winfield as Deputy Provincial Grand Master, and W Bro Mervyn C Cummings as Assistant
Provincial Grand Master. We thank W Bro Paul for all his work and support during his years
in Office.
To facilitate the Installation of the Deputy and Assistant PGMs designate, Eaton Lodge of
MMM No 977 agreed to host Provincial Grand Lodge at their meeting on Friday 17th April.
Eaton Lodge was opened and the Provincial Director of Ceremonies, W Bro Stuart Cameron,
entered and announced that the Provincial Grand Master (PGM) and his escort of Provincial
Officers requested entrance to the Lodge.
Provincial Grand Lodge was opened, and the PGM explained the reason for the meeting.
The Deputy and Assistant PGMs were escorted separately into the Lodge with their
appointed Brethren carrying their Regalia and Patents of Appointment. After the PGM
Obligated, Invested and Installed W Bro Mark J Winfield and W Bro Mervyn Cummings to
their respective Offices, each of their Patents of Appointment were read by the Provincial
Grand Secretary, W Bro David Hughes.
The Proclamations were undertaken by the Provincial Director of Ceremonies, W Bro Stuart
Cameron and Deputy Provincial Director of Ceremonies, W Bro Martyn P Wilcox.
The PGM also presented a Grand Lodge Certificate to Bro Ward Westwater, who was also
congratulated by the Past Deputy Grand Master (PDGM), R W Bro Francis C Spencer.
Provincial Grand Lodge was closed, and the PGM and his escort retired from the Lodge.
The Worshipful Master of Eaton Lodge, W Bro Fred H Annis, retook the Chair, and
completed the business of the Lodge.
Also in attendance at the meeting were R W Bro Eric J Rymer, PPGM, and R W Bro Kevin J
Spencer, PGM (Staff & Shrop).
The meeting was well supported by Grand and Provincial Officers of the Province of
