MBF Grants £ 24,000 to local Hospices on behalf of Mark Master Masons of Worcestershire
Five Hospices throughout the Province are celebrating receipt of grants from the Mark Master Masons of Worcestershire wholly funded by its charity, the Mark Benevolent Fund.
The donations, which are part of a Major Capital Grant of £1.3m to over 250 hospices in England, Wales, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, recognises the contribution made by HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh to the service of the Crown and the life of the nation.
Nominated by the each of the 24 Mark Lodges of Worcestershire, the following Hospices received donations as part of this grant:
Acorns Childrens Hospice, Worcester £ 8,000
Mary Stevens Hospice, Stourbridge £ 4,000
St. Richard’s Hospice, Worcester £ 5,000
Primrose Hospice, Bromsgrove £ 3,000
Kemp Hospice, Kidderminster £ 4,000
The R.W. Provincial Grand Master Eric Rymer said, ‘We are absolutely delighted that the members of the Province have chosen to support these five local Hospices. We are all aware of the toll that the pandemic has taken on charities across the country and hope that this gift will go some way to help enhance patient care and provide improved facilities for those in need and their families.”
The Provincial Grand Master accompanied by the Provincial Grand Charity Steward were also delighted to hand over cheques to three of these Hospices at recent visits and were able to view the magnificent work being undertaken by these inspiring organisations.
