R.W.Bro. Philip James Patrick, P.G.J.W., P.Prov.D.G.M. (Bristol)
(18th October 1948 – 31st August 2020)
The Province is very sad to report the Passing of R.W.Bro. Phil Patrick. He was a Founder and Past Master of our Provincial Directors of Ceremonies Lodge No. 1813 and will be deeply missed.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and his many friends. A close friend, R.W.Bro. Keith Emmerson, writes :-
Phil, as we knew him, was a very committed Mark Mason having held the offices of Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies and Deputy Provincial Grand Master in the Province of Bristol, both of which he served with great distinction.
He was a Founder of the Provincial Directors of Ceremonies Lodge and was delighted when he was elected as Master just two years following the lodge being Consecrated. His commitment continued as Treasurer between 2008 and 2011 with his affection for the lodge being very evident when seen enjoying the company of other members.
I had the pleasure of knowing Phil for many years and, with his daughter living just a few miles away from me, we would occasionally meet and put the masonic world to rights over a pint of beer.
Phil was a highly respected and popular man who will be sorely missed. However we can take consolation in the abiding memory that, undoubtedly, he marked well.
R.W.Bro. Keith Emmerson, Past Deputy Grand Master
