Cerebral Palsy Sport Swimming Development Gala, Worcester

Recently, the Province was pleased to support Cerebral Palsy Sport Development at a swimming gala. W. Bro. Mike Gage, the Provincial Charity Steward has the following report:

The Gala Support Team included W. Bro John Fleming, W. Bro Jonathan Swift and myself, along with my daughter Clare, 3 of her friends and my grandson Christopher.

We provided Time Keepers, Reception Assistance, Starter, Result Runners Etc.

There were 15 swimming with ages from 5 to 42 years of age, and races were over 10, 25 and 50 meters and included Butterfly, Breaststroke, Backstroke, and Freestyle.

Each swimmer in each discipline swam twice, the first time to establish a time, which was then used as a handicap for racing purposes.

The winner of each discipline received a Gold Medal on a striped ribbon, the second place swimmer a Silver Medal & ribbon and the third place a Bronze Medal & ribbon.

So why not join in, and make a note in your diaries for next year Brethren, it is 19th October 2019. I will be sending out a reminder nearer the time to all Lodges Charity Stewards.
